HOW IT ALL BEGAN
In 2015 we bought our home in Flower Mound in an older established neighborhood. We have 6 children, and the home was only 2030 square feet, so we knew going into it, we’d be adding on. We went through the standard interview process with a few General Contractors (at that time I was not in the residential remodeling business). We secured our financing and signed up.
We had no idea we’d signed up for the nightmare of our lives. Fast forward…… Months into the project of adding almost 1000 SF, certain trades were showing up at our home demanding to be paid. I would show them cancelled checks that showed I paid the GC. This quickly led to the termination of the contract with the GC, and forced me into cleaning up the financial mess, locating my own trades to complete the project, and a crash course in permitting/inspection/code processes. What I found, is that everything started running smooth. Communication and expectations were clearly set and executed, we were coming in at our expected budget on the remaining budget. My experience in Corporate America in project management paid dividends in helping get our lives back with this project.
I KNEW THERE WAS A BETTER WAY
After sharing my experience with some neighbors, I learned that this type of experience was not terribly uncommon. My friends and neighbors starting asking if I could help them by managing smaller remodel projects on their homes. The requests started to stack up, and quickly turned into full scale bathroom, kitchen, and flooring projects. I had a thriving business on my hands out of tragedy. I formed Rave Renovations, LLC., put all the necessary insurance, etc. in place and started about the business of over delivering on expectations. We’ve grown to a place I could not have predicted in just a few short years. Our staff is growing to keep up with demand, and we are growing to FIVE full time project managers. We carefully vet the PMs we employ to be excellent communicators, passionate about the business and the pursuit of exceeding expectations for every customer.
I knew there was a better way of doing things, and we are doing it. We love our community, and are invested completely in delivering honest work with great communication.
